ROMEO AND JULIET

SET AND COSTUME DESIGNER

PLEASANCE THEATRE, ISLINGTON

DIRECTOR : ANNA SIMPSON

2014

As feuds rage, love blossoms: at first glimpse Romeo and Juliet fall desperately and wholly for each other with tragic consequences.

Described as stylised and expressionistic in both performance and design, this production has a multi-rolling ensemble cast of seven using heightened movement and physicality, choreographed chorus sequences and detailed mime.

Fusing the physical with Shakespeare’s own text, original music and a simple design, Blue Crate vividly explore Romeo and Juliet’s themes of conflict, opposites and paradox.
